There are many types of missions in CoH, some are more fun than others; some are more xp than others. Today blab is about

Missions For XP
Here is how I rate missions from worst to best
CoT Caves and 5th Caves
Circle of Thorn and 5th caves are beautiful and adventurous missions, but they are the lowest for XP due to the difficult winding and massive structures of the caves. The early CoT missions aren't too bad, but the latter ones are hell. Yes they are very pretty, but when you have to find 16 books in a labyrinth and can't find the last one, it becomes very frustrating and time consuming. My advice is to avoid these missions if you like xp, take them if you like pretty scenery. You never have to take a mission from a contact...they are all optional and eventually as you level, that contact will offer you a new contact with different missions, even if you haven't done his/her misisons.
Spaceships and Office Buildings
These missions are in the middle. The layouts are not as bad as caves, but these can be three levels tall and each level can have multilevels. It's easy to miss a badguy or a stick of dynamite and so retracing steps takes time.
Warehouses and Sewers
These are my favorite of all missions. I love warehouse missions since they are "one level". You can see the entire map the whole time and so if an errors or misses are made, it's much easier to retrace your steps. These "flat" missions are my personal favorite for faster xp.
Three Other Ways To Do Missions
Remember I talked about taking Stealth and or Super Speed? Once you have stealth, you can do missions in more ways than "beat up all bad guys and touch all items and kill boss". It just gets boring doing every mission that way and sometimes a mission is too hard and you only want to finish it. When you have stealth, you can do missions ninja like.
Find Item Missions
With invisibilty you can slink around past bad guys and just touch items. I find this to be fun because you feel sneaky. :) You don't get much XP, but you can do a mission in 4 minutes with super speed and stealth. I like to see just how fast I can do them this way.
Rescue Marge
You sometimes get a "rescue young Jimmy" mission. On these missions, you only have to kill the two badguys holding the hostage. I like to sneak in, run the map, find the hostage, take out the two and onto the next town. Not great xp, but a fun change of pace and you feel you have pulled one over on the bad guys.
Timed Missions
Here is a trick if you are sick of tired missions...just take them and don't do them. Yep. :) I take them, let them tick out and you end up with 600xp whch the clock runs out. It is like free money as you street hunt.
It's not great xp, but I find doing missions in stealthy ways makes the game more fun since it's one more option.
Always Turn Left Technique
This will save you tons of time in CoT early caves and warehouses and many maps. Agree with your party that you will map it by always tunring left. Now you might choose right, but I always go left. If you always turn the same direction, you will complete every room in like a circle loop and not miss anything. Let me make a fast drawing. Go Left! This efficiently solves a map and makes a team faster since you all know where you are going and all agree where you are going.
Notes On Earlier Tips
I forgot to mention one other thing you can do with tip pooling, again to save time...once you both have 10 DOs or TOs, tell each other what you have and then trade so you get the fewest origins...like if you have 5 magic, 3 natural, 1 science, 1 mutant, 1 tech, see if your partner has any magic...they might need the tech...trade so you both have less sell-running to do.
With regards to stealth and maneuvers, one thing that is nice about stealth is that...if you get hit and it gets turned off, its instant on and you can turn it on while you are running. Maneuvers, on the otherhand, locks your feet for 1-2 seconds and this can be dangerous in a battle.
